WATCHAMANS: Spirit in Action
Rudolf Steiner believed in a spiritual conflict between “dark” entities and spiritual forces of “light.” He taught that since 1879, “spirits of darkness,” like Ahriman, have been a real and active influence on humanity, seeking to promote materialism and hinder spiritual development. He proposed that becoming aware of these influences is crucial for human evolution and that spiritual awareness and “awakening” are necessary to counter them.
In this work, as an artist who works with ancestral healing methods, I took photos of the process of transformation from darkness into light by harmonising the obscure forces taken over a space of one and a half hectares of garden.
I was asked to stay in this beautiful space for 2 months as an exchange for my presence during the night (while a team of workers stayed during the day) and cleanse it of some negative energies left there.
The place will undergo a series of reconstruction and refurbishment to make it ready to become a hotel and wedding events.
I called these series of photos, WATCHAMANS: SPIRIT IN ACTION, which are documenting the process of rituals and transformation of dark forces during two months.
I did this work with my husband Geoff, who also works as a Spiritual cleanser of spaces that might appear to be haunted or taken by dark forces. Or negative energies that block human and nature.
Tepoztlán is a magic town where strong energies and spirits collide, apart from the mountain of the Tepozteco, which has been said it was built by the Atlantes, and many people have disappeared through portals that open and close.
